Most of the titles are ones that were recommended by others in the past, but feel free to vote "Other" and leave a comment here with your favorite classic work! Voting will be open for as long as it takes me to finish Emma and you may vote for more than one work at a time!
Thanks for helping me chisel away at Mount TBR!

I haven't read ANY of those...so I can't vote.
Sigh. As for "other," my mind has gone blank!

I voted for the Woman in White, love that book. It's easy to read and very creepy in places.

I've only read Northanger Abbey and the story was simple (although I really liked Henry Tilney-such a cutie xD) If you haven't read Jane Eyre, YOU MUST DO SO. I LOVE that book... or you could read Elizabeth Gaskell's North & South. I watched the BBC adaption of that book and OMG, it is incredible. You should watch that AND read the book :)

I voted for The Count of Monte Cristo. It's the only one I've read from your list but I loved it! I can't wait to find out what the consensus is.

Love love LOVE Jane Austen!! How are you liking Emma? I totally recommend reading Northanger Abbey (I voted for it =)) because it is HILARIOUS! =)

Looks like a dead heat between Persuasion & The Count of Monte Cristo. Interesting split there--

I have only read the Count of Monte Cristo- however, I think that Halloween calls for something creepy-er. Shelley won a writing contest among friends with Frankenstein. Don't know much about some of the others- but I have Moby Dick around here somewheres waiting for consummation.

I voted for more than one, but I must say that Persuasion is my favorite Austen, and CoMC was my fav when I was younger. As for the others, Woman in White has some really good creepy parts, and Frankenstein is interesting (who doesn't know the story by now?)...
Also, North & South by Gaskell, like the other commenter said.

Haven't read any of the others but The Woman in White is definitely worth it. Classic. I felt very satisfied at the end.

I voted! In fact I have a similar "to read" poll on my blog but not getting too many votes. I just finished The Woman In White and would definitely recommend it. Also I would recommend something by Thomas Hardy -- Return of the Native or Tess. Or Middlemarch or David Copperfield. Enjoy whatever you choose...
