Happy B'day and enjoy the Kindle. I bought myself the 1st gen one to take to Iraq and am still quite pleased with it. Never have to worry about running out of something to read while you're on the go.

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes! I've only just started to explore all that the Kindle has to offer but it really is an amazing device. I'll definitely share more thoughts as I use it more! If nothing else the awesome convenience of carrying multiple 500 page tomes in my purse as I commute is a wonderful, wonderful thing. :)

I'm addicted to my local library and my shelves are still piled high with TBR's, so I am by no means switching to digital entirely, but for a portion of my reading it will be a great tool!

Grayz - The one I have is white, but I got a very pretty case and a colored "skin" for it, so it looks quite lovely!

Laura - Thank you so much! I'm very flattered and look forward to passing it along!

Old Sarge - My local used bookstore always sends overstock to soldiers but I imagine a digital reader is even more convenient. Thanks for your service and hoping you're home safe now!

So far, I'm loving it! I'm still learning a lot of the features but I've downloaded about thirty books and only spent $3 since so many of them were free. I'll definitely have a post next month with an update once I've used it more!
