"When I read a book I seem to read it with my eyes only, but now and then I come across a passage, perhaps only a phrase, which has a meaning for me, and it becomes part of me."
~W. Somerset Maugham 'Of Human Bondage'

That's so crazy -- on my LT profile page I say that I usually only keep a book if it becomes a part of me!

This quote really connected with me, too. I used to have a notebook that I called my "Quotebook" and I filled it with small quips and passages from books I would read. I thought it was neat to pull wit and wisdom from random pop-fiction sources and many of the things I wrote down I still remember, requote, and reflect on.
