A few noteable differences are it's the girls mother, not her father who does the bragging and the kind marries her first, then one year later locks her up to spin gold. There's also no baby involved, the little man just threatens to make the woman little too and take her away. I always found the story of Rumpelst...Great review. I always found the story of Rumpelstiltskin a bit disturbing (a woman selling her child, vanity, etc.).
